FACTS about The Nosferatu
As discussed in the Definition and History pages, the Nosferatu are not your ordinary, run-of- the- mill vampires. Below, we dispel some of the old wives tales and urban myths surrounding the Nosferatu and list the lesser known truths.
I. |
Sunlight does not kill the Nosferatu. Nosferatu, like most
predators prefer to conduct their normal activities at night (which is why they
are usually pale), however they can & do operate during the daylight hours. Vampires of lesser pedigree cannot do
this. |
II. |
A Nosferatu
possesses the strength equivalency of twenty men.
Demonstrated on the battlefield
during medieval times and quoted by Bram Stoker in 1897 |
III. |
Garlic & Crucifixes offer no protection from the Nosferatu. While these items may work on other weaker
types of vampires, a true Nosferatu would laugh in your face. In fact the crucifix is an element of the
Nosferatu Coat of Arms and was welded on the shields and body armor of Dracula’s
Knights during the 15th century. Remember, in the beginning Dracula
was a loyal servant of God and was fighting to protect the Church and all
of Christianity. |
IV. |
Nosferatu can sometimes cast a reflection in a mirror.
While it is true that most of the time vampires do not
cast a reflection, some Nosferatu have mastered a skill that allows them to
temporarily cast a reflection, thereby making a Nosferatu much harder to detect |
V. |
A Nosferatu can change into a Werewolf or wolf.
The Nosferatu are the only vampires that can do this.
|
VI. |
Not all Nosferatu are aligned with or controlled by Satan.
While this whole thing
started with Vlad Dracula’s belief that God had forsaken him first, and a
subsequent curse/deal with the devil...not all Nosferatu are evil - most are
generally just natural born predators, neither good nor bad.
|
VII. |
The Nosferatu are the enforcers (death dealers) of the
Underworld.
Being the strongest and most highly skilled of all the
supernatural predators, it is in the best interest of the Nosferatu to be the
enforcers of the “Masquerade”. |
